Once you have decided on a date and the venue for your wedding, you will need to consider all the other arrangements that you will have to do. To help you along here is a planner / checklist. Six Months -

    *      Take out Wedding Insurance, See the RSA recommended suppliers list
    *      Book the Registrar
    *      Book the Wedding Cars
    *      Find a good photographer , See the RSA recommended suppliers list
    *      Buy your wedding dress
    *      Choose a design and order the wedding cake
    *      Book your band / disco for evening entertainment
    *      Book the Honeymoon and hotel for the first night

Four Months -

    *      Arrange the hire of any formal wear
    *      Choose and order your wedding rings
    *      Order Stationery - Invitations, Menus, Table Plan & Place Cards

Three months -

    *      Send out the invitations
    *      Arrange your flowers with the florist
    *      Order the favours for the tables
    *      Buy any gifts for your best man, bridesmaids etc
    *      Set up your wedding guest list
    *      Buy the wedding rings
    *      Buy your wedding shoes and underwear before your dress fitting so that you can try them all on together.
    *      Go for a dress fitting

Ten Weeks -

Make an appointment with the Wedding Account manager for eight weeks before to go through the details of your wedding & have your menu tasting.


Eight Weeks -

Meet with your wedding Account manager at the RSA. Be prepared to discuss the following:

    *      Number of guests to the day and evening reception
    *      Reception Drinks
    *      Canapés on arrival
    *      The Wedding Breakfast
    *      Wine with the meal
    *      Champagne
    *      Evening Entertainment
    *      Bar arrangements
    *      Evening Buffet
    *      The Wedding cake
    *      Place cards and Table plan

Have a session with your Hairdresser and Beautician and book an appointment for the day.


Six Weeks -

Start the table plan

Two Weeks -

    *     Pick up your wedding dress
    *     Have your Hen / Stag night


One Week -

    *     Telephone the RSA with final numbers of guests for the wedding and the reception
    *     Fax a copy of the table plan to the RSA
    *     Pack for your honeymoon


One or Two Days -

    *     Deliver the cake, table plan, place names & table decorations to the RSA.
    *     Pay second invoice and sign final contract.


On the day of the ceremony...

Forty Five Minutes -

The groom, best man and ushers arrive



Thirty Minutes -

    *     Registrars and guests begin to arrive

Twenty Minutes -

    *     Bride and her escort arrive and go to the Drawing Room to meet with the registrar.


Five Minutes -

    *     The Bride and her escorts are taken to the room where the ceremony will take place.


Zero Minutes -

    *     The bride walks down the aisle and the ceremony takes place.
